Chery Commercial Vehicles launched its DELIVAN electric light commercial vehicle brand at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham (April 21–23).
On this occasion, DELIVAN and the GRUAU Group (European leader in bodywork conversion for LCVs) announce a collaboration on conversions tailored to DELIVAN’s new 100% electric van range, designed for European professionals.
DELIVAN, a new player in the light commercial vehicle sector, was launched globally on Tuesday, April 21 in Birmingham (at the CV Show). Created by Chery Commercial Vehicles, a subsidiary of the Chery Holding Group, the company’s mission is to offer electrified light commercial vehicles and integrated ecosystems dedicated to fleet management for the European market.
Combining an innovative vision with the Group’s scale, engineering capabilities and the international expertise of its parent company, DELIVAN is entering Europe with ambition and credibility. This commitment to combining global strength with local collaboration was illustrated at its global launch at the UK commercial vehicle show this week, where the company confirmed its cooperation with the GRUAU Group.
The cooperation between DELIVAN and the GRUAU Group is based on a “win-win” approach, founded on the complementary expertise of the two companies. DELIVAN provides a native electric platform, designed to European standards to meet the highest requirements of professionals.
For its part, the family-owned GRUAU Group is making available its multi-specialist expertise in the design and production of bespoke bodywork conversions, covering an unrivalled range of trade-specific solutions. Backed by a flexible industrial footprint in Europe, GRUAU will mobilise its production sites in France, Italy and Poland to guarantee proximity, responsiveness and quality of execution.

A co-development approach
The two companies began a joint development process at a very early stage. This approach is based on the complementarity of their expertise, making it possible to optimise the technical integration between the chassis and the body. The result is optimal compatibility, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and precise adaptation to the specific uses of the European market.
The future light commercial vehicles will thus bring together the best of both partners’ expertise.
They will be based on the native electric platform developed by DELIVAN, relying on Chery Commercial Vehicles’ own systems and technologies, recognised for their performance and range.
On this platform, the GRUAU Group will adapt numerous trade-specific conversions from its catalogue, including tipper bodies, crew cabs, refrigerated vehicles, workshop vehicles and other bespoke solutions perfectly suited to the needs of European professionals.
This cooperation will make it possible to offer, from launch, a wide range of standard and fitted-out solutions.
GRUAU, more than ever a leading partner for manufacturers
For GRUAU, this cooperation confirms its status as a leading partner for automotive manufacturers in Europe. With a historic legitimacy and recognised expertise spanning more than 135 years, the Group now supports all major LCV manufacturers and converts vehicles from 45 brands.
The commitment with DELIVAN also addresses one of the priorities of the bodybuilder-manufacturer’s 2030 corporate project in terms of international development. In an automotive sector undergoing profound change, this alliance between a European bodywork leader and an international manufacturer opens up new prospects and helps accelerate innovation in the light commercial vehicle field.
A pioneer in electric vehicles for professionals, the GRUAU Group reaffirms, through this collaboration, its commitment to being UTILY-TERRE PAR NATURE, by developing innovative and sustainable solutions to support the sector’s energy transition.
“We are proud and honoured by this cooperation, and we will strive to live up to the trust and ambitions of this collaboration. Reflecting the changes underway in utility mobility and the growing ties between European and Asian manufacturers, Gruau is pursuing an open and pragmatic alliance strategy.
It supports both our ambition to expand internationally — at the heart of our Project 2030 — and our determination to serve our professional customers ever better.
This momentum fully aligns with our commitment to sustainably strengthen our industrial footprint in France and in Europe.”
Patrick Gruau, President of the Gruau Group
